I'm with you on that - I've got quite a few of them on VHS tapes that I recorded at the time - the mix of talent on the show was phenominal...

As far as live performance tv shows go it was one of the best along with Austin City Limits and mtv Unplugged -

There's a show on one of the cable channels now hosted by Elvis Costello that I've been watching lately - it's excellent, it's on IFC or Sundance, I think -
