Yes. particulary since braid is not very "abbrasive resistant" like Mono. If you fish it around the rocks, it may cut, fray, scratch, nik, etc.; etc; etc. usually those imperfections are hard to detect and the line may fail when you least expect it.
Now, if you are fishing beaches, this may not occur b/c your braid won't be rubbing against rough surfaces.
