I have 65 on one of my larger spooled tuna spinning reels. IMO 50 PP is fine for the shore. If you are fishing rocks in a manner where you expect the line to be rubbing on barnacle encrusted boulders...then # test really doesn't matter when your talking about braid, because they all suck when it comes to abrasion...yeah some are a little better than others but they still suck and your best bet is mono. If you can manage to work around boulders then I would go with braid, IMO braid will give you a lot more opportunities to hook up than mono. Landing them is as mentioned above.
