Sounds like you know about these lines. I must say that they really don't feel that much heavier. I fish mostly 10 wts through the season, here and down south. I have 10 wt intermediate lines by Wulff, Sci Angler and Cortland and there really doesn't seem to be two sizes difference. I will however give that the running line is thinner and the head shorter. But maybe that is the difference. The local shop who is a very experienced life long fly guy claims 1/2 wt higher.
But, it works and that's all that matters.
