I was 16 yrs old, fishing in a bass boat with my Dad in Candelwood Lake, CT.
using baitcasting and the lure was a rapala shad rap. Dad "Jim, you're getting close to my head when you cast" Jim "No, Im not Dad, I'm nowhere near it.
Repeat the coversation10 times and then THWAP! I imbed the lure deep into his head. I wanted to pull it out, but 2 of the barbs were in the skin. We pull into a marina, a state cop came and brought him to a hospital, an hour or so later he was back and we started fsihing again. he never even got mad at me but I learned my lesson as a know it all teenager.
