Chirac has been a supporter of Heussein's for many years. He was personally involved in the Oil for Arms deal that France struck with Iraq back in the early '90s. His fear is that many of the weapons the US is so against Iraq having, have come from France -- and the world will soon find out that France has been violating many of the impossed UN sanctions against Iraq over the past decade. That is why they wanted to avoid a conflict as much as possible.
As for me, I am personally boycotting ALL products from French companies, and I pray that NO Iraq re-building contracts go to any French firms. Let's let Great Britain, Australia and Spain share in this windfall --- they deserve it!!!
