Think lighter graphite rods and a small 4000 size reel - yes, the Stradic is a good choice but not the only choice... I have an 8' St Croix custom that I built with a Stradic 4000 and my favorite is a Loomis SU965 with a 5500C3 ABU but I just picked up a 5500 Mag Elite for it ...

IFG - most of us would go broke on your recommendations ... And I would use a 4000 over a 2000 everyday. Capacity just doesn't hurt in this case...
