That said, some call this the slow time, the doldrums, yada yada. My advice to you is to choose a locale that if you need to move around to different spots is that your spots are close and don't require 20 miles between spots. So if you are at spot A, don't spend excessive time going to B & C because I can almost guarantee with certanty that you won't catch anything with fins when your line is in your trunk. Keep your line in the water and if no bite, quickly move to another nearby spot that may produce.
Plan your night in advance so if you do need to move you can do so quickly.
So beyond that - just go fish. There will be fish around, just not necessarily as steady or concentrated as they may have been earlier in the year.
