A 30" Blue is really big to be eaten...however, a few weeks back we were live lining Mackerel in a river. We couldn't catch any small macks so we were sending out 12-13" fish. We caught stripers from 26- 36 inches on those. A 26 inch striper eating a 12" fish....not hard to imagine a really big striper chasing a 30" blue. Maybe it decided it had bit off more than it could chew and dropped it.
