He worked in both the Bush 41 and Clinton administrations I believe. That doesn't mean people actually listened to him though
Something in the book I found very interesting is the contrast of their pro-Israeli position compared to that of like Michael Schuer (author of Imperial Hubris and bin Laden expert) who believe Israel is a big liability.
