It was a GREAT event this year and a big thanks goes out to all the contestants who participated and our volunteers at the Raffle - it just gets better every year!

The generosity of all those who contributed to the Raffle was deeply appreciated and as a result the donation to Hasbro Children's Hospital in John's memory will be sizeable

We also have to thank Komes, King of Clams, and the lovely Lisa for hosting the Meet and Greet at Flo's Clam Shack...... it's a great kick-off to the weekend and sets the tone for what follows

Also added to the thank you list is BJ Silvia of Flippin' Out Charters for a full day trip - if you read the reports, you know what size class of bass BJ put his clients on this season...

Personally, the most coveted raffle item for me was the large box of gourmet chocolates that Kevin J won - the ultimate 'Get Out of Jail Free' card for your significant other for guys who fish long hours - ya know, they also serve who sit and wait....and wait...and wait...

The other raffle item I liked was the custom surf bag JohnR 'won' with the extra HD D-ring in front for attaching a midget......Casey, I hope you got a shot of that

We'd be remiss if we didn't give a HUGE thanks to the good Captain himself, JohnR, for acting as Minister of Information - John, Baghdad Bob has nothing on you...

John's help at S-B.com has played an important role in making the Habs for Hasbro a great success for 2 years running and John has generously offered to develop a website dedicated to the Habs for Hasbro Tournament

And another big thanks goes to Dave Anderson at The Fisherman magazine for contributing to the success of the Habs with continuing coverage and a big assist on producing the needed materials - a big thumbs up and thanks to you, Dave...

Lastly, thanks to the little people - the mullet, ancovies and adult pogies for bringing in the striped bass that provided us with some pretty good fishing for this year's tourney...

My only hope for next year is an Old Timers division with an aggregate weight award to give me a shot at a trophy...

Thanks to you ALL, you guys are the best...

The Habs for Hasbro has become a fitting tribute to a master plugmaker, a great guy and a friend to many that is going to continue and just get better every year - see you all in 2010!

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.
