Here's my "fleeting moment" moment:
I was kayaking across Horn Pond in Woburn last week, and with a flat surface and a late season fly mating frenzy, I was EXPECTING to see trout/salmon rising for a feast. NOT ONE RISE the entire day!
What I did see, which had me howling laughing was something that had I not seen it myself, I would not believe it.
I was paddling across the pond and noticed something that was too big to be a fly skimming across the surface. As I closed in, I saw a spider "wind surfing" acroos the surface. The spider had spun a web the way the hatchlings do when the "balloon" away from the nest.
I could see the wake on the water caused by the hairs on the spiders legs, which allowed the spider to ride the water's surface tension like a wind surfer. I thought it was hillarious!

Sometimes nature's shows are so fleeting, if you blink, you miss them.
