Notaro - now you are typing out your butt - what do you mean the green is not compatible with your gear? Is it a fashion statement? What line did you spool your reels with this past year? C'mon, you are trying to BS some people here? I'm not trying to be bitter but you are waffling back and forth on your posts and it appears that you are regurgitating other people's info as your own and that you are making statements which make zero sense.
Please try to understand that nobody expocts you to be the instant expert or require that you comment at every corner to show participation. I've been fishing for a while but only seriously surf fishing for 6 or so (I thought I was serious for a while before that but had ZERO clue) and I consider myself FAR from expert.
I hope I'm wrong but it seems as though you are trying awfully hard to be a mensch among mensch. That's not what you need to do. You need to relax (and I would say have a beer but you have a couple years to go

) and lighten up a tad or two. The fish will be up your way in a month!
Write down a reasonable but SIMPLE plan on how you think you should attack this spring for bass. I'm being honest & sincere here. Do a little homework and figure out a plan for this upcoming spring fishing run. Let's try to put together a reasonable plan for you so you have some milestones to hit and take a little pressure off you (& us)...
Thanks...
John
