A story on hickory shad from a amateur myself. About 2-3 years ago I was fishing the "soft side" of someplace in Charlestown, there didn't seem to be much bass action so I decided to gear down and play with shad. I caught a few and was just tossing them back, when one of the more colorful characters of the Charlestown 4x4 crowd asked me for my latest catch. It was about a 13"-14" Shad. He hooked it through the nose and cast it into the outflow and bam within 2-mins he had a beautiful bass. From that point on I learned to keep my shad......
