What you can do if there is a spyware issue is to run a malware scan while your AVG is just sitting around. One program will search your pc different than another and both have different databases in recognizing threats. So basically you can have 1 scan while the other is active. In your case, update that spybot and have it do a scan while AVG is just active. Chances are (if anything is there) Spybot might check a certain path your AVG doesn't and all of a sudden Spybot and/or AVG finds the spyware and takes care of it. Think of it as a One Two punch combo. If nothing is still found, it could just be the settings in IE and/or Firefox. PC's are funny like that. *Remember it could just be whatever site's you go to which happens to be most since I get this issue and it isn't Spyware just annoying!*
