Years ago, the cows that you see roaming the cliffs at block used to use the bluffs on the cove as a jumping off point. Normally the weakest of the herd would jump, or be pushed off by other cows to be smashed on the rocks below. It's amazing how the block island cow population has a way of regulating itself.
