report from this last sunday on Helen H from another site:

Helen h sun report.

0200 departure for a limited wreck? trip? I really don't know but when I got the call for a 0200 not 0400 I was all IN! The mates said "a little farther south than usual and open bottom fishing." Started at first light and 1 keeper by 10 am,not me but on the boat[actually the mate threw a 23" in my cooler before I could say could you bleed him first?]. The seas were so confused it was senseless to fish. But I knew all that would change in any moment if I hang at the rail. Hit and run, hit and run, we must have hit 10 spots with the same ugly results in the first 3 hours. Wind against tide 20 oz plus catch and release 40 puppies, 8 doubles, and no doggies! Late day improvement in catch but wind came up to 30+ for the beating on the way in. Not the meat trip everyone expected including Capt Joe. Thanks for the hardest working Capt that day and the $40 voucher everyone got at the end of the trip. Merry Christmas to all and the rain and snow squalls on the way in.
Final tally- did not bring home any fish. If I have to measure them on my days off I shouldn't take them home. Pool fish didn't press teens and only other competition was a pollack. But still the catch rate was high and the Capt worked his butt off and went easily 120 miles chasin cod.

Tuna were sighted in the sand eel pods under birds, not only by yours truly but by many other fishermen on the bow.
