I bought a cheap pair of needlenose at Ocean State Job Lot and ground down one side like Pete did. If you screw it up you won't loose much.
5/32 drills work for me.
I epoxy the lips in place and secure them with Environ Teck coating. Sometimes I will insert a small SS wood screw.
