Thinning
Capesams posted something on the other site about this. I hope he doesn't mind that I took the liberty of translating it.
Liquitex is made to fill in the pores of a rough canvas, and make paints flow easier over a rough surface, plus it helps thin paint.
But it's too thick to use alone, so water is added to thin it out, but water beads up if sprayed on anything, so by adding a few drops of Windex it makes the whole mix spread out evenly.
If you want to put scales on your plug, but find sometimes your netting screws up your paint, just spray a coat of thinned Liquitex over your paint, let dry and then go for your scaling.
You can also add powered pearl colors to Liquitex. Then put your clear coat over that after the colored Liquitex is dry. This will add a colored hue to your plug. Which ever way you turn the plug it'll have that colored shimmer to it.
