I am quite sure the "broken stripes" theory of telling whether a bass is a hybrid or farm raised is just a wives tail. I have caught many a striper that have had this and I am pretty sure that I heard from apretty good source that this "broken stripes" theory is false. Wish I could remember where I heard/read this.
