The first time I really explored the place I stumbled upon the officers' housing section. A true ghost town. It's as if everybody was just going about their business and then suddenly everyone was gone. The see-saw and merry-go-round are still in the children's playground. I find it a cool but eerie place.
There is a marine research group that uses some of the office buildings and of course the Payomet artists and other entertainment is in the tent.
Very cool place to check out.
