The whole plover situation is a bunch of crap. However, one good thing about killing off the crows and preserving the nests is preventing the plovers from additional nesting attempts which, someone please correct me if I'm wrong, could be up to 2 additional times resulting in the beaches being closed even longer.

If they make another nesting attempt, then that's something like 3 weeks of incubation followed by at least a month until the chicks fledge.
