I prepare taxes and there has been a big drop in income the last 2 years. A smentioned above unemployement and people taking any job just for a little $$ are a big reason, but I also think the undergound economy has grown.
Unreported Bartering Income and underreporting of Cash Income decrease one's taxes as well. Cash is always preferred over check and CC.
