Some one suggested trying one of those back tension releases, but they were pretty $$$.
Winn Archery sells a C-12 release. You have to squeeze it to keep it gripping the string and you let up on it to release the string (similiar to shooting w/ fingers type of deal). It runs about $60, but I haven't tried it. I have a C-10 and it is very comfortable (since it wraps the whole hand, you feel like you are holding much less weight that you really are).
I haven't shot my compound in a decade or so. May be my target panic is gone.

Shooting with fingers worked for the archers in the English Crusades and the American Indians so it is good enough for me. I have been using a finger tab and like them a lot more than the three finger gloves.
