Well, after some electrical and mechanical work...finally making some real bottom progress. This bottom had never been painted and I wanted to do it right the first time instead of ending up with a mess latter...(been there/done that/no thanks!) Had a few minor dings that needed repair before I did anything paint-wise. After the minor fiberglass repairs were done, sanded the entire bottom with 100 grit. It looked awesome sanded, and the surface was perfect again... then received 4 coats of interlux epoxy barrier coat (grey). (each successive coat applied as soon as the previous coat became tacky) At this point I was thinking of painting the entire boat (inside and out) with this Navy grey barrier coat paint to give it a "battle ship" look. This stuff is great and nearly bulletproof. Then received 2 coats of Micron CSC, I decided to go green this time. (tired of black)
The in-progress photos show half and half. Grey is the barrier green is the bottom paint. You can't see the boot stripe because of the masking tape and overpaint but it's looking good... I think anyway, I like the green. (Next year when I install underwater LED's I will go green as well.
