Not much job security in the world today: Cop, Fireman, Mailman, and Public School Teacher or working for few select corporations are about the only jobs worth having security-wise. At least they can look forward to a good pension.
If you work in private industry your whole life, you’ll need to retire with a 401K account with about 500,000 (in 2003 dollars) in it to avoid being one of those cat-food eating oldsters living on a paltry social security check.
But Gee...I’m really surprised President Bush has not been able to turn things around for us with his brilliant economic policy.
Those tax cuts for the richest 1% will stimulate investment which in turn will lead to more jobs.....Either that, or they'll just pocket the money and say, "Screw hiring anyone...I'm buying a beach house in Rhode Island!"
