In keeping the peace with Jimmy, I'd like to contribute...
Headed out in the wetsuit to a fairly distant rock, tide was low/incoming so swimming wasn't much of an issue and I knew I'd have a good platform once I climbed on it. The Sun rose to a Beautiful morning, nature at it's best....but fishing had been s-l-o-w to non-existent. Tide was rising but the day was gorgeous so I was enjoying my time out there. Suddenly a Sea-Labrador pops it's head close to the end of my cast. I quickly retrieve and cast in a different direction..keeping my eyes on the Sea-Lab, he moves in closer...and closer.....and closer - TOWARD ME

, to the point where I may be able to reach him with my rod if I try hard enough. Ok, this was cool for about 2 minutes, until I realize I'm going to have to get off this rock soon and not by choice...waves are starting to smack my shins,, and rising... He ain't leaving. I start making loud sounds at him, yes, barking like a 1/2 seal 1/2 dog mutt,,, he's still not leaving....I try casting off to the side in attempt at getting him to swim away or toward the plug...hoping I can get him to "fetch" the plug. ..

...I then start rod-whipping the water in front of me hoping to scare him...

...ain't working, he's just staring at me, with an "I dare you to get off that rock" look or worse even, .."you're gonna be my bitcch as soon as this tide pushes you off that rock"..look....I'd a stained my briefs if I had any on, this sucka was close to my size, this wasn't your normal little grey seal. After what seemed like 1/2 hour of waiting, our stare contest started to bore him and he slowly moved away, dipping down beneath the waves popping up parallel to the shore. I finally wipe my butt clean and get the courage to hop off the rock...water's way above my head now, and of course I have the heavy boots on this day. As I'm holding on to the edge of the rock, I can feel the current swifting by, forcing my legs sideways. I decide to let go, the whole time thinking about where the seal is....since I'm now in the chop, I can barely see his bobbing head....I'm no wuss, but I was

...I start paddling and kicking, thinking I'm heading toward shore but actually being pushed by the current into his abyss...needless to say I made it, but it had to be the worst swim I've ever had. Actually had to rest the VS on the bottom structure to catch a breath now and then. Kept waiting to feel the bump of a horny seal on my backside...

....ended up hitting shore quite a bit down from where I entered. The other guy with me had hopped off his rock as soon as he saw it and swam in. He too was nervous for me as he saw me drifting away, I didn't even know I was drifting,,, I was too worried about getting goosed!!!
Sorry for the long story, the floor is now open for comments...
