A bunch of boats lost or damaged. I don't know any confirmed facts but from I heard the fire started underneath the boathouse. A worker in the boat house saw flames coming from both sides of the boathouse and ran out warning others to get out. That is all I heard. I have not been down there or talked to Scott. The boathouse is gone and the drive over-dock is pretty wasted. Boats tied up along that town dock were burned. Some boats were on fire drifting around the harbor towards the Texaco station but luckily that did not catch. Several boats were removed from the harbor before it got out of hand. I don't think anyone got hurt. It was a hell of a blaze.

It was sad to see that burn up like that. It was an old wood building and there was a lot of old wood on the dock as well. I am sure there must have been some flammable stuff in the boathouse and add to the stiff breeze we had that day and gas powered fiberglass boats crammed in that corner...is a recipe for potential problems.

Hope they re-build. That was a cool place.
