Go as slow as you can, and then a little slower. A lot of people swear by putting a sandworm on the hook also to sweeten the deal. I've caught fish both ways, but I like having the sandworm because it makes me feel better. The tube should have a slow lazy roll, which you can achieve by giving it a little twist. Don't let it be too curly otherwise it will spin too fast. I was told that stripers generally bite when it's a slow spin and usually only blues bite, or stripers won't bite, when the spin is too fast. Third and last piece of advice is to make sure that you're super deep, like bumping the bottom, wire is best for getting deep, but lead works pretty well too. I remember a bunch of threads about this from last summer when I was askin the same questions so try a search for tube and worm and maybe you can find some more info. Good luck.
