I thought it was just me but I too have a chit load all over my backyard and a huge concentration by my shed.I figured it was just the chipmunks hording them for the burrows

I once heard that when theres an over abundance of pine cones on the trees it would indicate a long snowy winter,does the same hold for acorns?
