In the early 70s I worked at Killington, that particular year was terrible for snow it would snow then change to rain, rocks and ice everywhere. This was before snowmaking was mountainwide, at that time it was mostly on snowshed and the glades, if I remember correctly. Well anyways with our brains organically enhanced, a friend of mine and I came up with the brilliant idea of starting a rumor about the big noreaster that would start the next day and was forecasted to bring 3 feet of snow. Needless to say by the end of the day everyone in the liftline was talking about it, and it livened up all the bars that night. We laughed about that for the rest of the winter.
