Thumbs up Timing rules, I'd say..

Saltheart, I think getting your jig/lure/bait in front of the fish is what counts right now, as opposed to what type.....I know I am preaching to the choir when I tell you these migrating gals are hungry. I do not find them to be picky in the ditch right now. Later perhaps, but if you get it under their nose now, they will take. BUT, as is true in all fishing, RULE #1 prevails: fish must be present. I keep moving till I find them, rather than setting up camp to await the parade. No action after 20 min. or so, time to try another location. Today did not provide yesterday's action at the same location/tide.

The jig and the weighted Sluggo are both working well. I often favor the Sluggo on a bullet head jig....the nice thing about this rig is that it gets down, which is essential as you know, and it is ALWAYS working for you, if there is any current at all. That sinous wiggle is tempting for bass, to be sure. I often let em dead drift after letting 'em sink, and almost always get the take during the middle of the swing.

Good luck, and keep us posted...
