The chinese food around here is made to sell to white people. White people like fried stuff, then coated in sugary sauce. My wife is 100% Chinese and never heard of a pu pu platter until she moved to the east coast. Im not kidding that when we moved here from CA, we ordered Chinese food about 4 times from different restaurants and threw it away after a few bites. Its really hard to find good, authentic quality Chinese food, unless you're in Chinatown in Boston, NYC.
Next time, avoid the fried stuff, avoid the General Gao's, sweet and sour, or other items - most menus have steamed dishes, or stir fried dishes, not deep fried. You'll feel better later, trust me!

Jim, try Alice's Mandarin Taste in Sharon. They have lots of steamed dishes and stir fry on the menu. Very good compared to anything else you get in the suburbs. There are still a few good places in Chinatown, as well.
