Plantar faciatis is terrible. I had it years ago when I was a runner. Simply put it was overuse as I was running 60 miles a week. Stopped running and it went away.
If yours is up in the high ankle and calf then it's not Plantar. Be careful as someone else pointed out. You do not want to rupture your achillies. Long recovery from a rupture.
