What no one mentioned, but is thinking yet, is the main reason why lots of guys will use the jb hollow for tuna fishing rather than a solid. It will lay a bit flatter for a bit more capacity but it is the ability to make spliced loops to form loop to loop connections of run your mono or flouro leader up inside the jb to make your own wind on leader.

Also some sharpies will put a couple hundreds yards of jb on for a top shot for they feel it flys better with the kite on lite wind days.
