Scouting was great when I was a kid and I'm sure its the same. I was only in a year when we moved to Cumberland. In CF I could walk to the meetings. In Cumberland I couldn't and with both parents working and only 1 car it just wasn't feasable. I do have lots of memories from even that one year. Its a unique thing in most boys lives. First time taking an organized hike , first time using a Topo map , first time cooking outside , first time camping , first time marching in a parade , first time rowing a boat and canoe , first time shooting a rifle. All this in just a year. Like every kid , i also hoped to be an Eagle Scout. Congrats to the kids and their famiies who could make it to the top.
