the track of the Low's and High's are driven, depending on the where in the atmosphere they are located, primarily by winds off of other systems. At the higher levels, the jetstreams co-mingle with system winds to produce direction.

this next storm in the models, also appears to be extended by blocking highs in place in Canada, not going to be a significantly strong storm, 990's millibars, and not with a lot of moisture as the air in place is too cold to be significantly moisture laden. Becoming more of a trough than a cyclonic system
All could change if the jet stream moves things around a bit, though
