Fillet the fish at home.....fillets in the freezer or fridge......gut the fish, guts go in the garden in a deep hole........frame and head go into a pot with water....fish stock for a chowder, plus a WHOLE lot of meat from the frame/head to make fish cakes with.......any surplus feeds the dog......the remains of the carcass (basically bones) are then already cooked and trash friendly......
If I keep a fish, the ENTIRE THING gets used, one way or another.....
