skeeters
I know this may be beating a dead horse, but try to eliminate any standing water (cans, buckets, old tires, even some foler pots)
Most insect repellents don't repel the insects, but rather make us almost invisible to them. most products work well.
In your own back yard you can also encourage birds to nest in your yard, so that they'll spend most of the day catching insects to feed their young. We have birdhouses in our front and back yards and our insect infestation is dramatically reduced. I once saw a sparrow with a beak FULL of mosquitos heading back to it's nest. I thought it was cool to see them at work.
Anyway, getting back to bug sprays, once again they do work well, but there will always be exceptions to the rules.
