They already ran BL's DNA and compared the DNA banding pattern versus DNA from his sister's DNA that they had previously run DNA fingerprinting on at Mass General in Boston.
Every Aircraft carrier has a forensics lab on board (With Applied Biosystems instruments) that can prep and run a DNA sample in about 1-2 hours if it is a rush.
I am certain they have photographs of every part of his body and did everything possible with the best technology available to prove they got their man... the US are still the best when it comes to Molecular Biology... just ask Buzz... he invents the chemistry used on Next Generation DNA sequencing instruments....
