I have owned a boat for three years now. My kids are now 11 and 9. Some of our best memories as a family have been created while on that boat. Whales at Stellwagen, beaching on Naushon Island etc. I say do it.
Like others have said the only tough part will be the commute to get there. If this boat is exactly what you want then pull the trigger.
