Yea, Maine requires a Safe Gun in the House Course. Two days of class. Then you sign up, they check to see if you're a felon, child molester, mental patient, bait fisherman.... I had a carry permit in MA when I was a resident. Tried to renew as a non-resident and ran into a beaurocratic nightmare. I don't carry on the ocean. Up in the sticks, fishing the wilds I carry a nice little .45 long-colt mountain gun.
