Herein a quote from some big ornery red headed guy I was talking to on the Canal last week (after he interestingly finished releasing a 20 ish lb. striper)...

"If you absolutely feel you have to sell a striped bass to make ends meet, then you screwed up..." I believe he is correct. The MA Commercial Striped Bass season is a political sop to fund your recreation abusing a valuable public resource. So, go ahead and sell your fish at less than $3.00 a pound to the fish buyers and the Industry who are your pimps.

At market prices of $15-17/lb. in the fish markets, this Industry isn't doing anything utilitarian (defn: the greatest good for the greatest number) for the "common man".
