Sea clams are for me, too. The bass can have the frozen bait clams.

What some bait dealers sell as "sea clams" are actually just the jumbo-sized chowder 'hogs that the NY/NJ guys call skimmer clams. They sell them fresh, in 50 lb. burlap sacks. Those are the ones to use for bait, if you can get them. Fresh, true sea clams are almost as delectable as scallops. I think they're probably more closely related to scallops or steamers than to quahogs.
