RE:Boston Harbor
Hello SandAngel, welcome to the board, there are some huge schools of fish in the harbor, try fishing over by Castle Island and the Airport, also at Rainsford. The action is there, but don't rely on the birds, use the fish finder and do some scouting. We have had an excellent year with top water this year, from shore and boat. Try using Yo-zuri mag poppers, sardine color, also chrome creek chubs or pearl shads with 3/8 oz jig heads. We always use teaser rigs, never take them off. We were out on the boat yesterday and caught over 70 fish, just need to put in a little time out there and do some scouting. The fish are hitting from high tide down, and the further it drops the better it gets. We haven't gotten alot of big fish this year so far, I just don't think they have really arrived yet. The water temp. is still 5 degrees colder than last year at this time, which can make a big difference, I think in the next couple of weeks you will see a big difference. Always remember also, if you see a school of fish come up and start busting on the surface, don't go running up on them real fast and run over the school, try going out around the school and let the wind drift you back over it, otherwise running on top of them will put the fish down and also break up the school, which will also screw up hours of fishing you could have had. We had a jerk do that to us yesterday or we would have gotten alot more fish. The charter guys are also doing pretty good over by waloston beach. Hope this helps. Tight lines!!!
