wood insert takes a 6" stainless liner. Pellet takes a 4"

Other than that they are the same basic install. Pellet insert needs 110v to run the screw and the blowers, but then again most inserts have electric blowers too so don't think it's really an issue anymore. I use a standard APC ups on mine. Biggest current draw is when you light it, there is a humungus glow plug that lights til the heat sensor is activated. I don't think the ups would run that long from a cold start but it runs great when it's running and the power goes out-the ignitor isn't working at that point anyway.
