On several occasions early on, he literally begged and cried to people to get the money to start up. Then he would move to the next thing, as if what he did to get to the next thing never happened. At their next meeting, he could be arrogant beyond measure. He had very little in the way of pride. He would grovel if groveling got the capital.
Jobs' vision was to create the coolest products, not make the most money. He rejected the first prototypes of the IPAD and sent them back with a note, "Not cool enough."
