Booze kills, no doubt about it and people driving, boating or canoeing drunk are idiots. A couple years back a friend and I were fishing late September well off of Strawberry Point in Cohasset, not a cold day, but the wind was howling SW and the water was cool to say the least. Don't know why but we decided to try the cove inside and as we motored in, I notice heads bobbing in the swell. We picked up 4 kids, drunk as skunks, each had to be hauled over the side by us as they had been in the water too long and none had motor control. Only one had a life jacket on and later after dropping them off we found illegal lobsters in the bottom of both of the 2 swamped canoes. Four stupid drunk kids thought it would be fun to pull someone else's lobster pots and if we weren't there that day, lives would have been lost. I watching amazed that one of my own teens is still alive, it's a wonder some reach adulthood
