My 1947 Unisaw is purring again

I bought a refurbished Unisaw about 18 yrs ago and have cut a lot of 8/4 oak and maple with it. The original motor finally died about a month ago after cutting a bunch of 8/4 maple. I ended up buying a used 3phase 2HP motor and a 1 to 3 phase converter that mounts on the back of my saw. Plaza Machinery in Bethel, VT (Joe B) is an excellent source for American made older high quality WW and MW machines and parts.

I just finished installing the new 2HP motor and the phase converter and it passes the quarter test with flying colors... so little vibration that a quarter stands on end without falling... love the good old iron machines...
