My sister Betsy lived in Paris for about 5 yrs in the early 80s back when the Vuarnet's were hot and the exchange rate for the $ vs the Franc was great...
I still have pair of Cateyes... they are wicked good on the water... clouds look great and no glare..
I bought a pair of race grade Rossi (ST650s) for $100 US in Paris went out to lunch at a Vietnamese place and then picked up skis with bindings already mounted .. we took a train from Paris to Zermatt that night... Those were the days when the $ was worth something... but the Swiss/US currency exchange was not as good
